Provider notice
When a third-party provider is used, audio or text goes directly from your device to that provider, not through Humlet. Humlet does not operate a transcription backend and does not proxy provider requests.
Provider choices
Humlet currently supports local WhisperKit models and cloud transcription with AssemblyAI, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and Deepgram. Provider availability can change as APIs, pricing, regions, or terms change.
Your responsibility
- Review the provider's terms and privacy policy before use.
- Review any DPA or business terms your organization requires.
- Understand retention, training, regional, and subprocessors rules.
- Protect your API keys and monitor usage limits.
- Check pricing directly with the provider.
Provider billing, quality, and outages
Humlet is not responsible for provider billing, transcription quality, outages, API changes, model behavior, retention, or data handling. If a provider changes its API or terms, Humlet may need to update or remove that integration.
Sensitive content
Think before sending confidential, regulated, or sensitive content to a third-party model provider. Local models may be a better fit when you do not want content sent to an external service.
Open source notices
License notices are available in the app under Settings > Legal > Third-party notices. The website uses the same bundled notice source.
Included notices
- WhisperKit / Argmax OSS Swift - local transcription runtime. MIT, with Apache 2.0 notices for derived components.
- Swift Argument Parser - resolved through the Swift package graph. Apache 2.0 with Runtime Library Exception.
- Sparkle - manual update-check framework. MIT, with bundled notices for included Sparkle components.
- Downloaded local models - WhisperKit Core ML packages downloaded on request from the Argmax model repository, including OpenAI Whisper-derived and Distil-Whisper-derived packages.
- Cloud providers - Humlet uses direct HTTP/WebSocket calls for supported cloud providers and does not bundle provider SDKs for those services.
